Tom Wells organized and chaired an advanced estate planning CLE conference for 110 other attorneys entitled Tax Planning to Increase the Inheritance for the Annual Meeting of the Tax Section of The Florida Bar. The conference was held at The Diplomat Country Club & Spa in Hallandale,  Florida on May 16, 2008. The conference addressed estate tax updates, recent tax cases for discount planning using family limited partnerships, estate tax savings using grantor income trusts, estate planning for foreigners, asset protection planning update and the new Florida Trust Act (Chapter 736).

“With all of the recent changes in estate and gift tax planning, this conference was critical to provide the estate planning practitioner with valuable information,” said Wells.  “Also, it was good to provide a sophisticated estate planning conference in South Florida for local attorneys since The Heckerling Institute has been held in Orlando for the past 2 years.”
